U.S. Markets Bounce Back Monday, Key September Labor Data Due This Week

All three major U.S. indices booked solid gains to start the week after finishing lower last week. Optimism for an additional economic relief bill and successful vaccine rollout continue to provide markets support, along with solid economic and earnings reports. September employment reports are due this week as well as August Personal Income, Consumer Spending, and Core Inflation; Micron, PepsiCo, and Constellation Brands headline another slow week of earnings. The SPY broke through its overhead resistance at $340 and our models are still projecting the SPY to trade in the range of $318-$360. Short-term traders could consider adding to positions when SPY is near $332 and we will look to be buyers into any short-term corrections. We continue monitoring the VIX as the market can overshoot support and resistance levels when VIX is trading near $30 level, and we encourage all market commentary readers to maintain clearly defined stop-levels for all positions.
